Yesterday was a bad day. All attempts to be joyful were met with an inner heaviness and ennui. And each passing  hour seemed to be filled with stifled resentment. Then a friend came home and offered to take me out for tea. As I stepped out of the house I felt the clouds parting , the sky clearing. We went for a walk in the park, bought a few post cards, spoke with the counter clerk who gave us some posters, had a cup of tea, cracked a few silly jokes.  And I thought that the quality of one's life depends on the quality of one's relationships.
